We are an independent
band from the city of Nagoya, Aichi prefecture, Japan, called Vio System Divide.
It is our goal to have our music be heard all over the world! With
little distribution other than our shows, our first album has sold about 1000 units to the present day.
Originally taisho (drums) and u1-skemaz (vocals/guitar) got together to jam some Napalm
Death tunes, but eventually formed O-Nal with kasawo (bass) in February of 1999.
After recording a three-song demo, kawaso left the band and was replaced
by mach (bass) and chikara (guitar). We decided to change
our name to Vio System Divide in April of 2001 and released our first
full-length album on our own Godspeed Records in 2002. In August of
2003, the Japanese fanzine "Kaballa" interviewed
us, reviewed our CD and reported our biography to the whole of Japan.
Since then, the changes in our surroundings, relationships and influences
have changed our view of the future of the band and its sound.
In addition to our main website, we currently distribute our music via
MySpace and IUMA,
as well as Statue Records, who handles CD distribution in the United
States. People from
all over the world inquire about our music, and critics recognize
us as a band with true originality. We have many fans in the United
States, Germany and Brazil, and our songs received radio play in Singapore
in January of this year.
As the atmosphere and our mental state differs from the time of each
composition, the sounds of our songs tend to vary, though this is not
intentional. It is just the natural process of how we write our music.
We think originality is the most important element of Vio System
Divide,
and we continue to work on and refine our signature sound.
We are currently in the process of post-production for our second
album, which we hope will be conceptually similar to
Queensrÿche's
Operation:
Mindcrime. The album's songs will be written as stories, with the
common theme of fear running through them.
